Colonel Joy Kaczor

Director, Cyberspace Operations and Warfighter Communications

Col Joy M. Kaczor serves as the Director, Cyberspace Operations and Warfighter Communications, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Cyber Effects Operations, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Va. As Director, she is responsible for integrating cyberspace warfare capabilities into the joint fight through strategic vision, policy, guidance, and resource advocacy.

Colonel Kaczor was commissioned through Officer Training School in January 1999. She began her career as a Communications and Information Officer serving in various base-level communications units. In 2009, she became a Cyber Warfare Officer. Colonel Kaczor served at multiple levels of command, including at the wing-level as the Commander of the White House Communications Agency and as the 33d Network Warfare Squadron Commander. She also served as the Deputy Commander of the 67th Cyberspace Operations Group. Colonel Kaczor served in numerous joint positions, including Current Operations Division Chief for U.S. Cyber Command, Computer Network Operations Branch Chief and Information Operations Planner for Special Operations Command Pacific and Chief of Protocol for USCENTCOM forward.

She completed Senior Developmental Education at the National Defense University Eisenhower School, where her paper on creating a cybersecurity culture earned the National Defense University President’s Strategic Vision Research and Writing Award. Her staff assignments include time as an Action Officer and Executive Officer to the SAF/CIO A6, Computer Network Operations and Information Operations Planner for Special Operations Command, Pacific, and as the Current Operations Division Chief for U.S Cyber Command.
